Check your Google Business Profile.
Your Google Business Profile decides whether you appear in Google Search, Google Maps, AI Overviews and ChatGPT when someone in your area looks for a clinic like yours. Answer eight questions and get your Visibility Score out of 16, plus the fix list, on the spot.
No card. No call. Nothing to install.
Your score, and what is costing you enquiries.
Not a list of tasks. A picture of what your next patient sees before they choose somewhere else.
Your Visibility Score out of 16
A pass or fail on each of the things Google weighs most heavily for a clinic in your area.
- Whether your description works for the treatments you actually want
- Your review count, rating and how recently they arrived
- How many reviews you have replied to
- Photos, and how recently you added any
- Your services list and whether each one is described
- How your service area is set up
The three clinics above you
The practices currently taking the enquiries you are not getting: who they are, their rating and their review count. Most clinic owners are surprised by at least one of them.
Whether AI recommends you
We ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity for the best clinic of your type in your area and record whether your name comes back. A growing share of patients start here rather than on Google.
Where you rank across your area
Not one position at your own address, but your position across the streets around you. You can rank first outside your door and be invisible two miles away, which is where most of your patients actually live.
What it is worth
What people in your area are searching for each month, and what that volume is worth at your treatment prices. It turns a marketing problem into a number.
What to fix first
A plain-English summary and a short list in priority order, so you know what to do on Monday morning. Yours to keep and act on, whether or not you ever work with me.
What is a Google Business Profile check?
It is a review of everything that decides whether patients near you find your clinic: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your listings and where you actually appear on the map for the treatments that matter. A good one does not stop at a score. It says which fix moves you up first, and what that is worth in appointments.
Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile in 2021, so a GMB audit and a Google Business Profile check describe the same thing. Most clinic owners try to do it by hand with a spreadsheet, which takes an afternoon and still misses the geographic ranking picture entirely.
What gets checked
| Signal | What is checked | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Categories & services | Primary and secondary category, and whether every treatment is listed with a description | Your category is one of the strongest signals Google uses to decide who appears |
| Description | Length, relevance and whether it mentions your treatments and your area | Gives Google something to match against when someone searches |
| Reviews & replies | Count, rating, how recently they arrived, and how many you have answered | Affects both where you appear and whether anyone clicks |
| Photos & posts | How many, how recent, and how often you post | An active profile earns more views and more calls than a dormant one |
| Service area & details | Service area setup, and whether your name, address and phone match everywhere else | Inconsistent details quietly suppress how far your profile travels |
| Map position | Where you appear across a grid of points around you, per treatment | Shows where you win and where you lose patients beyond your own doorstep |
| AI visibility | Whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name you | More patients now start with an assistant instead of a search box |
How to read your score
| Score | What it usually means | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| 0–4 | Core details are missing, so Google has little to match you on | Category, treatments with descriptions, service area, description |
| 5–9 | The basics are there, but the profile looks dormant next to your competitors | Weekly posts, fresh photos, asking for and replying to reviews |
| 10–13 | Well set up. The gaps are usually geographic or review-driven | Map coverage, how often new reviews arrive, treatment wording |
| 14–16 | Strong. Hold the position and widen your coverage | Re-check quarterly, watch the clinics near you, extend your area |
What to fix first.
Fix the fundamentals
Correct your primary category, list every treatment with a written description, and rewrite your description around the words patients actually type.
Close the review gap
Your score shows your review count and rating next to the three clinics above you. Ask consistently, reply to every review, and never filter who gets asked.
Make the profile look alive
Posts, new photos and updated treatments tell Google somebody is looking after the listing. Dormant profiles drift down.
Tidy your listings elsewhere
Mismatched name, address or phone details across other directories hold you back. They are dull to fix and they matter.
Watch the map, not the pin
Re-run your map positions after each round of fixes to see which streets improved. See how map rankings work.
Or hand it over
If you would rather not do any of it, the £250 Clinic Visibility Audit goes deeper and is credited in full against any work that follows.
Common questions
Is the Visibility Score really free?
Yes. Eight questions, your score out of 16 and your fix list, at no cost and with no call. The paid step is the £250 Clinic Visibility Audit, which goes considerably deeper and is credited in full against any work that follows.
How long does it take?
About two minutes. Your score appears on the page as soon as you finish, and I send you a copy.
Do you need access to my Google account?
No. The free check needs nothing from you but your answers. If we go on to work together you add me as a manager from your own account, and you remove me whenever you like.
How often should I check?
Every three months as a rule, and again whenever something changes: a new treatment, a new location, a change of category, or a competitor appearing above you.
Is this the same as the £250 audit?
No. The free score is a quick read on where you stand. The audit is a written piece of work covering your position across your area, your reviews, your AI visibility and your booking journey, with a prioritised plan.
What if my score is low?
Most are, and low scores are the easiest to move. The fundamentals are usually missing, and those are the cheapest things to put right.
Two minutes, and you will know where you stand.
Your score, the clinics above you, whether AI names you, and what to fix first.
